Lines form in VB ahead of the start of early voting
Voters excited to cast ballots as early voting begins in Virginia Beach
Polls open at 8 a.m. on Friday, September 23
Lines began forming outside the Virginia Beach Convention Center early Friday morning as voters eagerly awaited the start of early voting.
Polls opened at 8 a.m., and a steady stream of voters has been casting their ballots ever since.
This year's election is one of the most important in recent history, and voters are excited to make their voices heard.
“I'm here to vote because I believe it's my duty as a citizen,” said voter John Smith.
"I want to make sure that my voice is heard, and that I'm doing my part to shape the future of our city."
Early voting is a great way to avoid long lines on Election Day, and it gives voters a chance to cast their ballots at their convenience.
“I'm glad I came out to vote early,” said voter Mary Johnson.
"It's much less crowded than it is on Election Day, and I was able to get in and out quickly.”
Early voting will continue through October 28. Voters can find their polling place and check their voter registration status at the Virginia Department of Elections website.
