Billy Mays' Death: Head Bump or Heart Attack?
Disturbing Details Emerge
Tampa, FL - July 29, 2009
WEB OxiClean pitchman Billy Mays bumped his head on a flight the night before his death, but it is unclear if that contributed to his passing. Mays, a 50-year-old television direct-response advertisement salesperson, died in his sleep on June 28, 2009. The medical examiner's report released on Monday indicated that Mays likely died of a heart attack.
According to reports, Mays hit his head on the ceiling of an airplane during a flight from Tampa to Los Angeles on June 27. He was reportedly seen by a doctor at the Los Angeles airport, who cleared him to continue traveling.
Mays' wife found him unresponsive in their Florida home the following morning. Paramedics were called, but they were unable to revive him.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating Mays' death, but no foul play is suspected at this time.
